  • Overview

    The Faculty Liaison Executive will generate leads and support sales for our new innovative e-resources for teaching and learning. This will be achieved by building strong customer relationships in Territory with both key influencers, department heads and faculty through regular visits, emails and calls, and by developing and achieving a targeted territory plan which includes key account management objectives, calling schedules, and revenue targets.

     

    The Faculty Liaison Executive will be based in the Midlands, UK.

     

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    • To engage with academic calling to support the sale of products which are driven by Faculty recommendation.
    • Achieve calling and revenue targets for business products such as SAGE Business Cases, SAGE Business and Management Video, Data Planet, as well as newly launched Learning Pillar Products and any future products launched by SAGE.
    • To be the ‘go to person’ and keep communication lines open internally between key department influencers, faculty members and library staff to accelerate trials and sales of Video and Business Cases specifically.
    • Communicate scheduled faculty calls and lead contacts with corresponding Sales Manager, updating them on significant feedback or progress.
    • To attend library conferences as necessary, as agreed with manager. This might involve presentations, stand sales and meetings.
    • Identify and generate additional leads for Sales Managers for additional SAGE products.
    • To report sales against target and give market feedback on a monthly basis or at manager’s request.
    • To maintain in an orderly and timely fashion data relating to sales & contacts in the territory on SAGE’s contact management system Salesforce.com and keep the confluence page up to date including visit diary.
    • To liaise with Library marketing and sales managers on territory/product activities, and input into marketing plan to aid coordination of marketing campaigns as well as accounts/products that require extra help with faculty engagement.
    • To be involved in some of the most high profile and exciting new products in a rapidly changing marketplace and to work out the drivers of each stakeholder to further accelerate potential sales.
    • Other tasks as specified by the Executive Director of Library Sales or International Sales Director.

    Qualifications & Education

    • The role will involve a substantial amount of travelling in the UK. The applicant will need to spend at least 50% of their time conducting face to face calls.
    • Educated to degree level or equivalent, the successful candidate will have at least one year in a sales or publishing environment. A general understanding of the Library market and publishing would be beneficial.
    • High level proficiency in excel and salesforce.com (or other similar CRM systems) is desirable, and a sound knowledge of word and outlook is essential.
    • A knowledge of consultative, needs based selling would be advantageous

    Language, Reasoning, Analytical & Mathematical Skills

    • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills are vital to the role.
    • Well organized, with an ability to prioritize a varied and sometimes heavy workload, with strong forward planning skills a must.
    • A high level of initiative is required in contacting and running own territory
    • A team player who is highly motivated to work on their own for lengthy periods in Territory whether at home or visiting customers.
    • Ability to be adaptable to a fast changing market and flexibility in approach
